Creativity in 'BlueSky' - Innovation an Opportunity
In some narratives, or faith communities especially, gold is often recognised as a symbol for either 'divinity', 'the creator' or creativity. Core to innovation, and our, or any mission to Re-imagine' future-state healthcare is/ will be 'Creativity' itself. Interestingly, could this abstract image be showing us creativity as fundamentally integral to, or bound up within the actual problem itself?, Its an intriguing thought. In which case Innovation, as per the current, or As-Is'-state of healthcare itself, is actually presenting us with, what we should recognise as a very exciting opportunity. In line with this, there's also an adage that says: 'God is in the detail', which again illustrates how creativity plays a central role in 'BlueSky' thinking and ideation, encouraging open-mindedness, and the generation of unconventional ideas, the implication being, without the constraints of practicality or existing limitations. This is welcome in so far as It allows us, or more widely individuals and teams, to explore possibilities beyond the current reality, fostering out-of-the-box thinking that can lead to ground-breaking solutions.
The aim being that creativity should help participants challenge assumptions, imagine new scenarios, and connect seemingly unrelated concepts, creating a fertile ground for innovative breakthroughs. By removing boundaries, 'BlueSky' thinking taps into creative potential, opening doors to ideas that may not surface in more structured or conventional brainstorming sessions. For this reason it is foundational to our 2024 Ideatory, or Ideation Healthcare Laboratory's approach to the question of: 'Articulating a Vision for Digital Healthcare.'
