This Paradigm Report looks at the status of IT innovation and Digital in the Healthcare sector globally, (with specific focus on UK Healthcare), examining the main reasons as to why the Healthcare industry is still not digital, setting out the nature of some of the problems, or the main reasons and the challenges as to why this sector has been slower to transform, and innovate when compared to other sectors of the economy.

The report goes on to show that, the problem is further compounded by the fact that healthcare technology, is now on the cusp of taking it's next 'great quantum leap' into what's being heralded as an 'era of exponential technology', yet the industry as a whole is still in the process of building its basic core operational capability, which is more foundational to the  previous technological era.   The report also points out that this new technological shift will also bring a number of new hidden liabilities and risks, that have been hitherto unforeseen; and that furthermore the industry is essentially without clear direction as to how to navigate this shift, including legislatively at this time, in areas such as AI for example.
